Being in the latter stages of the FA Cup, Liverpool have no rest this weekend like a lot of fellow Premier League clubs. Infact, the fixture list is looking very packed with the Reds facing Brighton AND Hove Albion on the same day. We catch up with Brighton season ticket holder Steve O’Donnell ahead of tomorrow’s clash. Steve will be in attendance at Anfield tomorrow with his son Alex who is celebrating his 13th birthday this weekend.
Earlier in the season the two teams met in the League Cup with Liverpool running out winners. How do you see this one panning out?
Last time Brighton showed too much respect in 1st half and were lucky to still be in at half time. They’re playing better now (excluding millwall game) so hope it will be better. Still think Liverpool will be too strong though.
Liverpool come in to this game on the back of a defeat at Old Trafford. Do you feel this is a good time to play the Reds?
I’m hoping Liverpool have one eye on next weeks carling cup final which will give us a chance. Not sure Man Utd result makes a difference.
What player do you feel could cause you the most problems and who are you looking forward to seeing the most?
I’m a big Bellamy fan, he was outstanding at amex.
Many Liverpool fans may not have been keeping tabs on Brighton this season, how are you getting on?
Brighton just outside playoffs and are on good run at moment, unbeaten in 2012.
Brighton boss Gus Poyet has publicly defended Luis Suarez over recent months, what are Brighton fans opinion on the whole thing?
I think a lot of fans just wanted Gus to keep out of it.
Who do you think will win the FA Cup this season?
Brighton of course.
Do you think there will be any shocks this weekend?
Brighton beating Liverpool will be shock. Also fancy Birmingham to turn over Chelsea.
What’s your favourite memory or story involving the two clubs?
Brighton got to final in 1983 beating Liverpool and Newcastle on way. We beat Newcastle in the last round.
What is a little known fact about Brighton that Liverpool fans are unlikely to know?
Probably that 1983 fact!
Whats the score going to be then?
Hoping 1-0 Brighton (suspect it will be 3-0 Liverpool though)
It certainly seems that the 5th round draw has been favourable towards Liverpool, managing to avoid the other Premiership clubs. However, Brighton are certainly no pushovers and Liverpool will have to be banish any thoughts of next weeks trip to Wembley if they are to avoid an upset here.
Oh..and Happy Birthday Alex, enjoy Anfield…although hopefully not too much!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
