Liverpool Sign Joao Carlos Teixeira

Liverpool Sign Joao Carlos Teixeira

Posted on 24. Jan, 2012 by in Rumours

Liverpool have signed promising young playmaker Joao Carlos Teixeira from Sporting Lisbon, it is understood.

Following the original reports of Liverpool’s interest and subsequent bid for Teixeira, we reported that a deal was expected to be concluded early this week, and so it seems to have transpired in a move believed to be worth around an initial £1m, according to reports from his homeland.

The 19-year-old will slot into the Reds’ reserve set-up if he comes over right away, where he will be monitored for the remainder of the season to determine when he might be ready to make the step up to the first team squad. He could yet be allowed to stay with Sporting and link up with Liverpool in the summer.

Can’t see this news anywhere else so if true well done for the scoop. And if price is right even if he only ends up being a future squad player it still has to be considered a real bargain and you never know saw next gen games and this lad looks really promising!

Watching Palace v Cardiff and Zaha has been an absolute hero dropping back and defending attacking with pace and good delivery, hope cardiff win so Zaha becmes available!

  6. sam charles - great window owners, comolli, kenny etc, well done? - not

    24. Jan, 2012

Another great young player with hope and talent for the future – note the word “future”.

Yes it is all very well trying to load up the club with much young talent, but i tell you something there is no good doing that unless the first team is loaded with top quality and is doing better then what we are doing at present.

We can go and get as many sponsorship deals and as many naming partners as we can to increase revenue, but!!!-
unless we are going to go out and get what we need at times in the transfer market thenhaving a new satdium and not getting into the champions league because of lack of investment then whats the point?

playesr in your first team sell shirts, bring fans to put bums on seat’s and so on and so on!!! its an easy business model to work out!.

this window im not syaing we could go and get messi etc, no- thats clear but i tell you what for the club to be in this situation as we knew suarex was going to to be out for some of the season and with lucus out , and with gerrard only just back, then i would have thought the owners and the entire club might have a bit more energy and pace with regards the buisness they do?

STAGGERING THAT we have not acted at first team level and i mean act way before or even when the window open’s??????

    players like;

    xherdan shaqiri
    junior hoilett
    scott sinclair
    hugo rodallega
    mauricio isla

these are just some of the players that we could have got to and are and would be happy to move on, why oh why do we take so long to realise that there are better players and for cheaper prices then thess tin pot uk places?????

liverpool simply have to start investing more and more in the first team.

another dreadful way for the club to manage yet another poor window when you think the club would use it to add to even just 1 or 2 positions in the team — i just give up with the club really?

@Sam Charles. Save that for February 1st. Window is still open. We can draw City with the side we have. Drawing with City gets us to Wembley.

Now if FSG signs no one for first team this window then vent as I’m sure we all will.

  8. sam charles the boring gimp

    24. Jan, 2012

sam charles you are so boring…..the owners policy is to buy at source, if you dont like it then go support another club, as im sure you wont be missed

    Sam Charles 2 questions:
1 how do you know we haven’t tried or trying? Because the club do everything behind closed doors we don’t know until after we get the fee agreed, sometimes not even till player agrees terms. Everything else is just speculation or occasionally leaked by other side. Case in point, nothing last year about Llorente but in feb he told spanish media we had a bid rejected by Bilbao, our failure to sign him led to us having to go for last minute deal for Carroll instead. Quite a lot went into that but lot of people still don’t know coz media was clueless at time.
2 do you want us to stop building for the future because we are struggling now? That’s a great way to think innit? How is the club ever gunna be better long term if we don’t work on it now? No matter what are short term plans we need long term plans too, signing a 1 million youngster isn’t going to stop us signing a 15-20 million senior player is it? As Kenny has said these are academy signings its not even the same people working on these signings as do the first team deals so its not like its too much work for people to do either.

    24. Jan, 2012

no, im wide awake to living in the real world, its clear that we all knew the transfer window was open as did the owners of all clubs and as did the the clubs across the world? –

If you are not pissed at the slow way in which we have and do mostly act in transfer windows then ? dear me .

we have carroll who is just not good enough, bellamy can pare

at best who is our best striker at the current time cant play games back to back – really! suarez are best player bar a fit gerrard is out and the club once told of his ban knew this well in advance !!!! and not to mention kuyt who has never looked so poor!!!!!

    - and you tell me that i cant express my point of view that our business statergy is slow- do one will you and take a hike.

on top of that we have lucus out all year with injury and you really think its ok to sit still and leave it(even if we do buy some player out the bag) on the last day,!!

THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH, WE NEEDED TO GO OUT AND MAKE SURE WE ALMOST GUARANTEE A TOP 4 SPACE.

TELL YOU WHAT MATE YOU NEED TO WAKE UP BIG TIME IF YOU THINK ITS BE FINE FOR TEH CLUB TO SIT ON ITS HANDS AND FOR THE OWNERS NOT TO REALISE THE PROBLEM WITH NOT ADDING PROVEN QUALITY TO THIS TEAM????

and buy the way o dont mean some young guy who has so called hype and so called talent for the future, the future will not look so good if in the summer we are facing yet another season without champions league and the you may well get suarez and reina coimng out and maybe saying im off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAKE UP ,, buy the way you **** you i will be there tomorrow spending my normall £150 per game you c*** you.

so you shut the f*** up

point taken anfield rd dreamer – i agree with some of you views !!!!

HOWEVER – phil thompson said it loud and clear on sky tv- last saturday.

-thats at times in life you just have to pay out! he did, he said that and i agree, at times liverpool have in the past bulked at better players that come at more exspensive prices, but yet will pay out for crap like downing and carroll and henderson(although he is getting better).

we at times simply have to stop dithering and just get the deal done and if that means paying a cretain 5-8 mill for a player like llorente then fine. – in life and in business if you want to be the best or at best compete then you have to at times take a hit in certain areas and pay out????

sick of liverpool not quite doing so for the better players and at times even if its hard to get the player then you make it happen by many means possible, being proactive and aggressive and then putting the money down and getting the f****** deal done!!!!!!!!!!

  12. anfield rd dreamer

    25. Jan, 2012

Sam answer me one question how do you know we haven’t bid for players an not been rejected? Chelsea bid 40 million an would have upped it for Modric an Modric wanted to move but Spurs wouldn’t sell at any price! City agreed a massive fee with Milan for Kaka but the player wouldn’t move. We keep our business behind closed doors so I repeat HOW DO YOU KNOW??? Mates with Mystic Meg? And I’m in the kop tomorrow before you rant and rave at me!

  13. anfield rd dreamer

    25. Jan, 2012

Phil Thompson also said the Enrique deal was a done deal in an interview in March but the deal wasn’t completed till August so either the deal took 5 months to complete or Thompson just does what the rest of us do and use the information available to make a best guess at what’s going on. What after FSG sanctioned 16m for Henderson 35m for Carroll and 20m for Downing makes you believe FSG aren’t willing to stump up the cash needed to complete deals?

Would you prefer Kenny to do a Redknapp hanging out car Windows looking for sky reporters to tell all about this “t’rrific” talent who we are looking to bid for” or “this interesting buy out clause we’ve found in this guys contract” or “yeah we tried to get the deal done we really wanted him but he turned us down”! I find Harry keeping the world updated funny but Spurs fans an the people trying to get those deals done before others sweep in must just cringe!

  16. sam charles - hate transfer windows

    25. Jan, 2012

agree with what you mean and how it can look but at times we here and peopleoften tell us in the end that we where looking for this lad or looking for that lad and etc and on and on and on,,,, and yet we seem to never really be able to do what is clear for the eye to see?

their are many players out there that can be got to and im not happy with the quality that is still being brought!!! = thats my view and you have every right to have yours but when some fans have a go and tell me to be paintent, then after nearly 22 years on not winning the tittle and spending large sums of money and seeing the same players brought in when we could and should be going after the better players then it kills me, it really does mate!

being in the champions league is clearly going to help to attract players but thats not the only thing that will stop us buying much better quality.

not being funny even junior hoilett would have been good this window to add some legs and pace down the flanks, he is much better at present to have in games like tomorrow – where we need pace? rather have a sinclair even dyer both swansea or holiett then downing,- you must see that – and no one can tell me thoes players would nt come here or could be to hard to get to?

thats my point….. even hugo Rodallega today came out and said he wants out at wigan, now he world class he is not but is he better then carroll at this time- hell yes, would he cost the earth – no way, would he come to lfc, maybe most probably 90% he would?

im not taking about over paying all the time for so called big names, im taking about doing business when it calls for it to be done, and some of those players would help out now and then would make the whole squad better.

then in the summer if we can ever get our summer market correct – sell – and buy if we want to.

we need to sign Birmingham winger his outstanding with him and Raheem on the wings they will be great

  18. Romans116

    25. Jan, 2012

@Sam Charles. Hugo Rodallega scored 9 in 37 last year and only has 2 in 15 this season. They can keep him. I get that you would prefer action early. Negotiations take time from what I see. I took Chelsea weeks to get Cahill and that’s been going on forever.

I’m just hoping for a good DM, great winger and good striker. Combined with Suarez coming back that would enough to challenge for 4th.

Damn, which language is this ?
As far as I understand it’s not even close to slang

  21. sam charles - downing is crap.

    25. Jan, 2012

Romans 116, do you really think the way liverpool are in the market and with the way we take years to pull of deals just because we haggle over every single F****** penny!! that we will see 3 quality players in this window? – no way not a chance in hell that.

we haggle over every peeny and then over pay for dogshite like downing and carroll?

I really hate the way that people say, January is the hardest transfer window, as you can’t buy anyone or it’s very awkward

Now I can’t remember everything transfer window, but there has been throughout the time of this window some good signings the teams across Europe,

you only have to look at present time Shaqiri, Cisse both moving and both would have improved our squad,

For whatever reasons we seem to be sticking with what we’ve got, and I think that is mistake in my opinion.

  22. SAM CHARLES - GREAT POINT THIS GUY MAKES!

“Money talks, if we pay the price we’ll get the player.

Without the money gained from player sales it’ll be interesting to see how motivated the owners are”

LFC is building for the future thats great so were aiming for Champions league spot but wont be able to compete for another two seasons and guaranteed 6th / 7th place finish great of course the players will eventually improve in 24 months what brilliant motivation for the fans KUDOS and yeah 5 days to go in the transfer window hmm brilliant…yoooohoooo

Haha Sam you complain about the club penny pinching and overpaying in same sentence, which is it? Do we only penny pinch and refuse to pay top whack? Or do we willingly pay over the odds when the club think its worth it?

  25. sam charles - nice window fsg - yer really?

    25. Jan, 2012

hey here we go another fan that feels that same and i got this from anfieldonline -

“People calling for the managers head need to go support some other team. However, we have become poor operators in the transfer market, a bit is a laughing stock as some would put it, that does need to change”

i agree with teh above statement and i agree with it ten fold, we are so crap in the markets, do you really think it is that hard to bring in a better player or a couple of players that are needed!!!!!!!!!!!! jesus – dear god.

i have had it with the way we do business – come on even the most die hard red knows we are not the greatest in the markets?????????????

Go tell city that Kaka should be playing for them go tell Chelsea Modric should be their player, after all money talks! B####cks transfers happen when one club is prepared to buy the other club is prepared to sell and the player prepared to move. Many players in January that are of the required standard to improve our team will be either in champions league or hunted by champions league clubs and therefore unwilling to come to a team in transition, if they’re good players their clubs may not be willing to let them go for any price and finally your idea about how good a player has to be to improve our team may be a lot lower standard player than Kenny an Comolli’s idea and they won’t sign anybody who isn’t better than what we already have.

I don;t know if I’m that excited about this player. We’ve been hyping a lot of these youths that we sign….but he’s 19. If he was truly class he should be playing for a first team somewhere.

Look at all the players on our first team right now. Almost all of them made their debut or where regular players for a first team by their 18th birthday.

We should be aiming for young players (18-20) who are ready to break into the first squad now, or are ready to be loaned out and play for a first team…OR…players who are 14-17 and will play for the reserves/academy.

Sam Charles I am still waiting to hear all your complains about last nights game v man city? How poor we all were how poor Kenny’s tactics were and how everything needs to change? If you knew the slightest thing about football and LFC then you would realize that King Kenny is the right man for the job. LFC is work in progress and we are improving and that is all you can expect and ask for. Get behind the club or go glory hunt support Chelsea or Man City or some other billionaire’s toy club

Good future signing , who knows if he comes to Anfield rather than him stay a Lisbon till the summer he could play a bit part role like Coates has done. I agree with the person who recommended Nathan Remond , excellent future prospect if we put our noses infront before United&Arsenal respectively we would have a hell of a force in reserve, and it would be good to see some of this future talent play in the carling cup next season
