Liverpool Make Alexis Sanchez Bid

Liverpool Make Alexis Sanchez Bid

Posted on 10. Mar, 2011 by in Rumours

Liverpool have been linked with speculation surrounding a €35m bid for Udinese’s Alexis Sanchez. It has been revealed that an English club, believed to be Liverpool, have made a huge offer for the highly rated winger ahead of the summer transfer window.

Udinese chairman Franco Soldati has claimed that an early official bid has been made for the player with rumours circulating that the bid originated from Anfield where Dalglish & co. are looking to add highly rated young talent.

“Sanchez is of interest to both English and Italian teams. A team has already offered a figure close to 30-35 million euros [for Sanchez] but I cannot say where it came from,” Soldati told Sky Italia.

And Udinese Sporting Director Fabrizio Larini added fuel to the fire on Calciomercato by saying:

”An evaluation of €25 million for Sanchez? Looking at what has been paid for [Luis] Suarez, [Fernando] Torres and David Luiz in England, I think Sanchez will also be sold for more than €25 million.”

Liverpool have previously been linked to the player, although Real Madrid, Man United and Chelsea are also said to be keen on the talented wide-man.

Kopsource rating: 69% – (Kopsource ratings explained)

Source credibility: 90%     Player rating: 76%     Value for money: 50%    Likelihood: 60%

This rumour shouldn’t be totally discredited. Having seemingly lost out on Edin Hazard, the club could well be targeting other players ahead of the transfer window. And while €35m may be a big asking price following the January signings of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez,  the duo’s fee was covered by the sale of Ryan Babel and Fernando Torres meaning that the club could focus big summer signings.

Alexis Sanchez, being a young and exciting wide player, is exactly the type of acquisition that the club are looking to invest in. The 22-year-old may not be the worlds quickest winger, but his technical ability and low centre of gravity help him beat his opponents.

Sanchez is very much a flair player with an eye for goal. The Chilean has scored 11 goals in 25 appearances this season, but he may not be the right candidate if the club are looking for players with crossing ability to add much needed width.

Very very talented player! I would be more than happy to spend around the £25-30m mark for a young player with his ability. If, as expected, the owners do free up another big chunk of cash (with the Torres sale covering previous transfers), I reckon this rumour could well come to fruition. Looking forward to the summer!!

    Sanchez, Coentrao, Mexes!!

now this i have heard about for the last 3- 4 months, if he would chose liverpool and if the money is realistic, he hasnt done all that much to be givena a price tag of aorund 30-32 million pounds. But he is a very bright player who can beat people for fun.

He is small, not ultra fast, but as quick as ashley young and for me puts in better service in the last 3rd, problem is he is playing in a shite bag league, i watch every game of the seria a and its a crap league with about 10 – 15 good players and the rest are so so.

this guy for around 20 million would be more like it, but him coentrao, and aguero would be just amazing at the very top end scale.

    REINA
    KELLY CARRAGHER AGGER COENTRAO

    SANCHEZ GERRARD RAUL JOHNSON

Thats a team with so many options and with pace too.

He looks class, hope we get him!!!

But there are alot of other big clubs looking for him too

    Real Madrid, Man U, Chrlsea…. etc….

Personally I think its between us and Madrid

But it will be his decision, so don’t get your hopes up yet

I would prefer Hazard – that kid not only has all the skills but a good head, too. future world beater.
With Sanchez I always got the feeling that he is a bit streaky – but clearly a very good and versatile player.

One of those above, Sahin for the rhythm and Criscito for the left back spot.
for centre half we can get one more young lad a la wilson, shawcross for example, think that is enough.
get rid of poulsen, maxi, cole, jonvanovic, ngog

See the below regarding Hazard. We can all but rule that out.

Just because he has signed a further exstension does not mean he is staying, you should know that, its a way of getting more form an incoming bidding club.

hazard will move in the summer for around 25-28 million uk pounds sterling.

        hope this helps.

Come on poulsen, no way he is like mcmahon, jovanovic is as good as barnes and ngog is our new robbie fowler we need to add rory delap and if we can get shefti kuqi on board we will be a force to be reckoned with.

We should not only be happy that such high profile players are linked with us , WE SHOULD DEMAND IT . We have to pay good money for the best players and thats what we liverpool supporters deserve and demand . We have the power to do so , ask Gillet and Hicks . If we dont afford an expensive player we should look within the acedemy . Some good talent croping up there . Atleast they would know what it means to play for liverpool

get rid of Maxi,Poulsen,Jovanovic,Ngog,Konchesky,Aurelio,El ZHar,Degen,Insua,Aquilani come summer..we can get around 35-40 million from these flops and with another cash injection from NESV like 40-50 million we can start rebuilding..this means like 90 million for transfers..30mil for Sanchez,10mil for M’Vila and Taiwo on a free are players we need for the starting line up..now go and buy players for the bench to have a squad worth fighting for titles..
    Reina
    Johnson Carragher Agger Taiwo

    • Christoph

      10. Mar, 2011

Taiwo worries me a bit. Another inconsistent player – don’t we have enough of them? We need rock solid guys in defence, not occasional brilliance. players like dani alves, maicon or lahm who can do both attack and defend on the highest level are few and very expensive.

like the mix of free transfers and big signings. right now our problem is that our squad players are useless. so bringing in quite a few additions while selling all the deadwood is going to what we need.

Sanchez is interesting. less of a winger and more of a striker. I know he plays on the right but his contribution is usually goals as opposed to assists.

    10. Mar, 2011

Alexis Sanchez is an AWESOME player, but my huge love is Porto’s Hulk..if i ever imagine an attacking trio of Hulk-Carroll-Suarez….it feels so GREAT!!i’ve also heard that Clichy is on his way to Liverpool which is other great news…Kenny got mad after today’s result and i can see him overhauling the squad with Steve Clarke,John Henry and Damien Comolli..i’d love to watch this squad:

Steve, – The first person to add banega in their team, way to go mate!

i like your team, but mate after last nite dreadful game and it was bad. we do need to ship out players that will also top up the spending power ready for the summer.

Please tell you agree, we need many a player to go and use the youth and bring them in as well as adding many proven young international players.

If we get any of Sanchez, Jovetic, or Lavezzi I’ll be happy. All are great and exciting players

  14. Andy Johnson

    11. Mar, 2011

we need to beef up the back 4 as well. current line up doesn’t look good enough to be EPL Champion next season, and the following seasons.

  15. Ricky RedCardo

    11. Mar, 2011

I’m not as high on this Sanchez as the rest of you I guess. How about Pastore? I know we will wind up signing at least 2 players from League 1 this summer, maybe more. Hopefully one will be from the trio of Moussa Sissokho, Blaise Matuidi and Yann M’Vila. I would also imagine we could use a stop gap replacement for Gerrard (the injuries are the concern) until Jonjo Shelvy is ready. That could be Charlie Adam or any other physical player with some creativity/class going forward. And If we solidify our CB’s Fabio Coentrao could become our version of Dani Alves.

    • Michaelk

      11. Mar, 2011

Pastore is great, but I think he may be out of our price range. He could around 50-80million, if their manager is being serious.

  16. skeley

    11. Mar, 2011

I still maintain that we don’t need to look outside the EPL for the players we need. These are: Ashley Young, Marc Albrighton, Roger Johnson/Brede Hangeland/Chris Samba, Seb Larsson and Moussa Dembele.
Then we really must get rid of Jovanovic, Poulsen, Ngog, Maxi and Konchesky.
We also need a new goalkeeper; Reina is getting too complacent for his own good.
Finally, Kuyt should either be converted ino a midfield grafter or he should also be shipped out. He’s not competent as a striker or winger.

  17. bayern

    11. Mar, 2011

skeley, you need to get transfer listed to for your talk about kuyt,, shut up man,,, do you go to the games, think not, last nite he was one of the players who was working and carrying what hope of a fight we had and that was poor, speaing and shelvey are both shite

  18. GG

    11. Mar, 2011

we need following changes apart from the regular list of those who need to be shipped out(including reina not kuyt). i will do a bayern

C defender: mertesacker will be idle.strong, physical, rarely fouls, perfect in positioning and more importantly will partner well with agger. danny is more agile and quick while merte is rigid and firm.at 26 he can fill the gap till wilson/ayala/kelly mature.
winger + winger/striker – adam johnson is what we need +turan
    CDM – m vila/mousso
    LB-baines/coentrao/clichy
GK-stekelenberg(best in the world according to me)/neur(younger)

    stekelenberg
    kelly agger mertesacker coentrao
    AJ m vila gerrard turan
    suarez carroll
    subs/reserves- mereiles,lucas,carra,wilson.johnson.kuyt.jones,marveux ,soto,suso,pacheco,….
as the season is too long players on the bench wouldn’t actually be there.

above players will cost us around 100-110.
    50-60 from sales(reina,cole,aqua and co.).
lets see what owners have got.
    NOW BRING ON BARCA.

  19. budgie

    11. Mar, 2011

Are any ofl these transfer targets really likely to come off since it appears to be footballers only interest is in the Champion’s League and Liverpool cannot qualify for that until at least next season. Look at Torres and even it looks like we are going to lose Reina because he wants Champion League football.I wonder how long it will be before Suarez wants a move. These prospective targets would probably use Liverpool as a springboard to move to Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal or Man City

  20. sloop

    11. Mar, 2011

Kuyt .. This guy has just scored a “Hat-trick” against M/Utd.
What more could you ask for ? … He’s in the same “Grafters” mould as “Craig Johnson”,Callager,Sammy Lee all members of past Liverpool successful sides . He is the player type that fits a square peg into a round hole …..

  21. GG

    11. Mar, 2011

it will tough to get them but thats what commoli is for.
AJ wants first team,m vila is young and has stated his desire to be in england and indicated liverpool as have turan and coentrao.
none of them is unrealistic or ‘megastar’(like hazard, erikkson, sanchez) so we have reasonable chance.
if not all,we can get at least 2-3 of them .even that would be good enough to be in top 4.then the rest will follow.

  22. bayern

    11. Mar, 2011

ashley young is going to man uutd, or spurs, i can tell you that now.

    kenny likes turan, more likley transfers are;

cahill, turan, enrique and one more and thats my old mates is just not enough, just hope i am very wrong, if not we are just going to come up second best at best yet again..

  23. Cb

    11. Mar, 2011

It looks like more positive moves by the Liverpool management – FSG don’t let the grass grow beneath their feet. And as for the guys obessed by the fact that Liverpool will not be playing in the Champions League next year, if a young player decides that one year in the CL is a deal breaker then they are not worth it as they have no vision. Liverpool are proving to be the team on the up – can the same be said of Utd and Chelsea?

  24. bayern

    11. Mar, 2011

agree Cb, but come on mate, we have players that are just not good enough.

spearing, poulsen konchesky, darby, insua, jonvanovic, el zhar, plessies, brad jones, joe cole, even soto(even though he is a good player at set pieces, his lack of pace and his age means he is just not going to offer us anything of real note for next year and further).

id like to see shelvey go as well, cant even get my head around the hype around this kid. with this list we can then add the unloyal aquilani, why many fans want him is just crazy, he gets fit and then demads a loan move to itay, then he gets there and all he does is moan about england and why he wants to stay with an old has been team like juve, this guy is so over rated its just crazy, he really is not pulling up trees at that crap club juve either, in fact they might not even wnat him.

if we can shift all above, we can maybe have a net income recoup coming back in of around 31- 32 mill.

if nesv cant are are not wanting to add another 50 million then we might as well pack it in, because spurs are spending dont worry about that, city will spend, the pressure on arsenal to spend after they win maybe nothing will be to great, villa are going to spend, as will man utd, they are going to sign young,

liverpool need 5-7 top class young proven internationals and we know we do need that, its that clear.

  25. Upper_Krust

    11. Mar, 2011

With Hazard out of the picture I think we need to move on and find a similar type of player.

Sanchez would be perfect for that role.

    Suarez – Carroll – Sanchez
    Meireles – Adam – Gerrard
    Marveaux – Agger – Carra – Johnson

I could definately see that working.

I’d also buy Gervinho and Arda Turan. That way our second team would be:

    Sterling – Gervinho – Pacheco
    Turan – Lucas – Shelvey
    Aurelio – Skrtel – Wilson – Kelly

Thats what I call a real squad. The attacking options would be incredible, the competition for places would be fantastic and we would be covered in every area in the event of injuries.

The big problem would be keeping everyone happy…which is a nice problem to have.

  26. bayern

    11. Mar, 2011

love the fact that just becasue Charlie Adam, has had half a season in the prem and takes a good corner and can pass that bal, we are all in love with him, Im sorry at 26 nearly 27, and lacking in box to box energy and with hardly any pace, adamm would be a water carry man for most teams, would he get in at barca, would you see an over the top inter or juve pay out for him at around 14 mil whihc is what tjeir stupid dick head chairmen wanted out of nesv for the very very over rated jumped up Adam,

Wouldnt touch him with any money, do we really want to move on and become that liverpool again, if so adam would be just a token sitting on the bench and we all know it.

  27. Patrick

    11. Mar, 2011

He is a very good player. He put up a great performance @ the world cup.Adding him(sanchez) and players like coentrao, sakho,m’villa, kjaer,Adam,Adan etc, our team will be great and will look like this
    Reina
    kelly sakho kjaer coentrao

    Great player!

Together with Baines (LB), M´Vila (CDM), Young (RWM/RF/LWM/LF), and Marveaux (LWM/CM/RWM), Sanchez (RWM/RF/LWM/RF) would do great as one of our summer signings.

  29. bayern

    12. Mar, 2011

    patrick -

m’villa ha smade it very very clear he wants to go to the shite house- man utd, so i dont want a player anywhere near us who always has that issues of using us as a stepping stone, so no thanks with this guy.

kjaer, is to small, has hardly any pace and for me is well over rated, sakho is better and so is cahill, and for me his value is set for what reassn, this guy is so hyped up its crazy, he also would cost around 12- 14 million , rather pay more for cahill, at least he knows this league. go for a sakho – carragher deal at the middle,

love that like coentrao, tthis guy is boss and would be a huge pplayer at home, mostly floating down the left channel with suarez cutting in with in, this would make us dream like th old days, but can we or do we have the desire and the cash to even compete to get this done? dont think so. but please nesv prove me very wrong

  30. Upper_Krust

    12. Mar, 2011

@bayern – not sure if the Charlie Adam vitriol was directed at me or not. While I agree Charlie Adam is probably not the next Stevie G, he’s a bloody good central midfielder who consistently puts in man of the match performances every game. He weighs in with a goal from open play every 4-5 games…and yes his corners are brilliant. But the bottom line is that he is vastly superior to Lucas Leiva. Not that I am knocking Lucas who is having a good season, but I think you have to know your limitations and he’s squad level, not first team level (IMHO). I could definately see Charlie Adam in our first team.

So what is the general consensus from everyone on who we want out and who we want in?

OUT: Aquilani, Aurelio, Cole, Jovanovic, Konchesky, Maxi, N’gog, Poulson. Recouped: £30 Million

IN: Charlie Adam, Gervinho, Sylvain Marveaux, Alexis Sanchez, Arda Turan. Cost: £65 million

  31. bayern

    12. Mar, 2011

krust- add insua, soto, brad jones, spearing, darby, plessies, el zhar, and maybe even agger, – just cant stand this injury problem that we have with gerrard, cole, agger, aurelio, carroll, we need fit players and we need them to not break down as much as agger does and for me, can we really go into next year with passengers- no matter who talented.

    sell agger.

    bring in sakho and cahill

bring in coentrao and aly cissohko

    bring in turan and sanchez

bring in santon and moussa sissohko

then and only then with this type of invest can we even just start to think about winning things, just maybe.. come on nesv pay out

  34. Upper_Krust

    13. Mar, 2011

@bayern – yes indeed, those others were so bad I had forgotten about them. Maybe get 10-15 million for the lot. That is, other than Agger. Even though he is injury prone he’s definately our best defender. I’d give him one more season to stay fit. I mean if you start getting rid of injury prone players Stevie G would have been shown the door ages ago.

    Needed (in order)…My suggestions

    Right Winger…Alexis Sanchez
    Left Back…Sylvain Marveaux
    Left Winger…Arda Turan
    Central Midfielder…Charlie Adam
    Another Forward…Gervinho
    Another Central Defender…Robert Huth

@Sebastien…are there any players Man City didn’t go for in January? With Rooney seemingly available in the summer I can see him going to Manchester City for £70 million. So where the heck will Sanchez fit in to City’s attack? Whereas with Liverpool he would fit perfectly into the set-up.
