Insua Joins Sporting Lisbon

Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua has joined Sporting Lisbon after falling down the pecking order at Anfield. The Argentine was behind Jose Enrique, Fabio Aurelio and Jack Robinson in Kenny Dalglish’s thinking.

22-year-old Insua spent last season on loan with Galatasaray, but the Turkish outfit did not take up the option to sign him on a permanent basis. He has now agreed a deal to join Sporting on a permanent basis, and departs Merseyside with immediate effect.

Shame, he never really got a chance IMHO. This shows faith in Robinson. Any idea what the fee was?

    All the best, Insua. YNWA.

  2. Money says:

he had his chances but just not good enough , wish him all the best #YNWA.

  3. Bob says:

I broke down in tears when i heard the news Insua was leaving. A top top class footballer who will develop into a world class player

  4. goal with a hole. says:

He was rushed into the team by Rafa when we had no one else. He really filled out last season on loan and I wish him luck. I believe he went on s free but I could be wrong

  5. Rafa was his first problem,he rushed him too early and Roy spoilt everything by sending him on loan and buying his former team mate[konchesky] who was n’t even half insua’s quality…anyway good luck to u YNWA

  6. Dave McQueen says:

He’s not even as good as Robinson. Slow, defensively weak. Can’t see him ever being top class.

  7. Dr. Red says:

Cheer up Bob, it’s for his own good.

Just shows there has been a lot of work behind the seens to get rid of a lot of wage wasters , I suspect the likes of cole , poulson and ngog to follow by or on dead line day ….cole will join spurs or QPR on a free and poulson will leave for stoke or abroad with ngog going to bolton or back to france just my opinion not fact!

  9. andreas says:

Dear Bob, get a hold of yourself man. You broke down in tears? For Insua? Do you cry often? That’s not good.

Always remember goal against arsenal what a strike!!!!!!!

  13. Ray Pugh says:

A reasonable player with some potential still but I think he was just never gonna quite be good enough for LFC.
The same can be said for EggNog as as well, hope Bolton finalise that deal.
Still a right winger and another striker ideally needed….. Let see what happens in this next week eh.
Although Henderson, Maxi, Gerrard or Sterling can play right wing leaving Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt, Morgan or Ngoo for up front.
Suarez and Kuyt link up very well together!

  14. Dave McQueen says:

Strong squad now with Coates to come. Maybe an extra striker however not a necessity. Kuyt is able back up, and then Amoo
