Hoilett Father Hints at Blackburn Stay
Posted on 17. Jan, 2012 by Liam Tomkins in News, Rumours
The father and agent of Blackburn’s Junior Hoilett has hinted that his son could remain at Ewood Park for the remainder of the season, despite reported interest from Liverpool and Tottenham amongst others.
The Canadian’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, but David Hoilett Snr does not believe Blackburn are likely to sell one of their star players as they look to keep their head above water in the Premier League relegation battle. He also insists there have been no talks about a contract renewal of late, meaning the most likely scenario is a free transfer for the player at the end of the current campaign.
“Considering his contract, there have not been any talks recently and to be honest I don’t really see any at the moment. I don’t think there will any more talks at the moment,” Hoilett Sr told The IBTimes UK.
“Concerning a move to other clubs, it is a bit up in the air at the minute. I can see with the club knowing that they will get some sort of compensation; it may not be within their best interests to off-load him considering what is going on with (Christopher) Samba at the moment.
“I can’t really see them letting both of them go at the same time and with Junior’s contract ending at the end of the year, the value they could get for Junior would be less than what they would get for Samba.”
Hoilett Snr went on to add that there has as yet been no concrete offers for his son’s services, and dismissed speculation that he had handed in a transfer request in an effort to engineer a move away.
“I have not had any response from Blackburn regarding that (potential offers),” he continued.
“I am not sure of the situation with other clubs. I have an idea which clubs (might be interested), but at the minute that is confidential.
“There was a rumour we handed in an official transfer request, but that is a rumour, we never did.”

why aren’t we talking about GIOVANNI DOS SANTOS?. This guy is good, got pace, only 22yrs,wants out of spurs. he is a fringe player cos he cant sit neither Lennon nor Bale down cos the play in similar positions. KK, Commoli, Henry add a good striker to him and we are sorted. YNWA

offer 5m for hoillet and coates on loan, he can replace samba, if they sell him this month.
hoillet is the kind of player that ticks all the owners, boxes. ie he is young, talented, resale value etc etc.
if the owners have got a 4/5 etc etc plan, then players of the ability of hoillet need to be signed, alongside players like sinclair, mark davies..bolton, albrighton, etc etc
