Hillsborough: How You Can Help
Posted on 15. Apr, 2011 by Elliott Binks in Hillsborough
The issue of the Hillsborough disaster is obviously very close to all of our hearts, as Kopites we stick together and that’s the way that it has always been. Many families have been affected by the terrible disaster which struck on that fateful day 22 years ago, and to think of all the friends and relatives of the 96 who did suffer great losses at Hillsborough is heart-wrenching. But there is a way that you can help.
The Hillsborough Justice Campaign (HJC) is the pinnacle in terms of fighting for justice for the 96 that lost their lives at Hillsborough. It was formed in a response to the belief of a substantial number of people who were involved in the disaster, that after more than nine years and having many judicial decision ruled against them, a fresh approach was needed in the fight to achieve proper justice.
Their campaign abides by three integral aims:
(1) To pursue Justice for those 96 people who died in the Hillsborough Stadium Disaster of 1989, the bereaved Families, the Survivors who came perilously close to dying in Pens 3 and 4 and those unfortunate people still suffering from the ensuing trauma of the Disaster.
(2) To recruit members to the Organisation for the purpose of raising support for the Justice Campaign
(3) To raise funds for the furtherance of the Justice Campaign
The third aim in particular, is exactly where you can help. The HJC are in desperate needs of donations in order to pay for the impending court cases which have the solitary aim of obtaining justice for the 96, assisting families and people who have been affected by the disaster and giving survivors the opportunity to talk things over with someone. And there is a number of ways in which you can help raise this desired money.
(1) You can buy a number of goods from the HJC shop: Justice T-shirts £ 5.00. available in red or blue ( Bulk orders available in other colours). Baseball caps £4.50. Car stickers £ 1.00. Also copies of the excellent Liverpool Fanzine ‘Reds all over the Land’ (Donated kindly) £1.50.
(2) If you would like to simply make a donation please send cheques/postal orders payable to:

Another way in which help is needed is through the means of volunteers to distribute leaflets, stickers, posters and use any means necessary in order to publicise the campaign. In addition to this, it is also recommended for you to write articles, letters to the press, phone radio stations or make your own justice banner to help the cause.
Every single bit of assistance, no matter how small, is welcomed as a fight for justice is extremely important for Liverpool Football Club and the people who are closely connected to it.
