Fernando Torres last night became a father for the second time, having been called away from Liverpool’s encounter with Aston Villa when his wife went into labour.
The appropriately named Olalla Torres, pictured left with husband and first child Nora, gave birth to a healthy baby boy at Liverpool Women’s Hospital as the Reds brushed aside Gerard Houllier’s Villa side at a canter. Xabi Alonso was present to see his former side in action, and is said to have later joined his compatriot to celebrate the new arrival.
Leo Torres is the couple’s second child, after daughter Nora was born in Spain in 2009. Little wonder, then, that Liverpool’s number 9 has been looking a little weary of late!
