Dalglish Offered 2 Year Contract With Sizable Transfer Funds

Posted on 14. Mar, 2011 by in Rumours

Kenny Dalglish is set to be rewarded for his remarkable Anfield revival with a 2 year contract. Sources claim that the much adored legend will also be given a sizable transfer kitty in order to add much needed additions to the squad.

But the transfer budget is more of a compromise by the owners after Dalglish was denied a four year contract. It is understood that Tom Werner and John Henry are reluctant to look beyond two years, but are willing to review the situation again in the near future.

However, the owners have snatched at the chance to ensure that Steve Clarke remains at the club for the foreseeable future by offering the coach a 3-and-a-half-year contract.

With the sale of Fernando Torres funding the acquisition of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, the club were fully expected to flex their financial muscles in the summer. And with Dalglish demanding a large war chest, the summer promises to be a very busy period at Anfield as the Scot looks to build his own team ahead of a new season.

I’m probably the only Red in the world to say this but Dalglish is not the man to take us forward in the direction we need to be and more importantly, the pace of development the club needs. Apart from Chelsea and Utd, we have looked disjointed and toothless in most of our last sequence of games.

You may say he needs to time build but that is exactly the crux of it. We simply don’t have too much time. A rebuilding project of 5 years (which is what Henry and co are planning for) would see us lagging behind year after year. What we need is a manager that can turn us back to Europe’s elite company in no more than two seasons.

Andre Villa Boas of Porto would have been the man for the job……

Jubes, that sounds like wishful thinking. We will do well next seaon. Hell, look at us now from the relagation zone to 6th.

jubes, think you will be the only fan also not wlecome at the club with a view like that.

Its cleat that kenny has the respect of the players and the players that dont want to be there now as the club is slowly stating to grow and get rid of the cancer that we hicks and gillett and all that wa then, we are now a very very different club with nearly all the past all but gone.

Kenny will be given a contract, we know that but its paper talk guessing that and guessing this.

Like the club have said if they have news it will be told form the club to its fans, in fact kenny has had to say that to the sky people over and over.

Steve clarke will be there for awhile that much is clear, but kenny is not just going ti take the contract if he cant make liverpool huge again, and thats the best thing about having a man that cares about the club, we are not going to lied to or even conned any more.

Kenny or no kenny, liverpool need to spend and its that simple, 50 million and players sales of around 22- 30 million, any less then even any other manager, even a jose, would find it hard, just look at the crap we have in that team, we need to invest and invest hard if not it doesnt matter if god was running the team it wouldnt make a bit of difference,

pay out nesv and big time,

KD is the man. He knows the club inside out. It’s about the knowledge of the game, the application, understanding your player’s strength n weakness, man management and instilling the confidence in them. Clearly you can see the player’s attitude once he took over from RH. They will not just play for the club, but more so for the manager for giving them the belief. Give the man time n we’ll be back right where we should be…TOP!!!

we need to reinforce this team , if u look close enough u can see what kenny has done in this team right now

    1. bought a deadly strike pair but they have been in the club only for two months so they need some time to gel
    2. a nearly forgotten raul meirless is posing threat to every defence now & then
    3. about-to-be-sold lucas is doing a fantastic job as CDM
    4. Martin kelly – A REVELATION
    5. Glenn johnson & Dirk kuyt – Shining like never before

Kenny is not a old hag like Woy..pardon my words.but he is the king,no one understands Liverpool better than him

now we seriously lack 1. Creativity in midfield 2 . Wings that can feed strikers or attack 3 . a solid defender or two to take place of carra 4. a support striker

with CL is out of our reach grabbing big stars to fill this voids is no child’s play & Kenny at the helm could do just that…he can lure some of the biggest stars to play for LFC.

.Werner & Henry believes in result oriented investment,so a 2 yr contract is understandable…but if they provide a big summer transfer kitty that will prove enough for Liverpool to win trophies once again

Kenny has been proven to be an excellent man manager and was definitely the right choice in January. He has the knowledge of how to set things up behind the scenes to ensure the continuity that we experienced in the 70s and 80s. We need to be looking to create a bootroom team that can provide Kennys successor. Nowadays changing a manager means changing the entire backroom staff and the whole ethos of the club which is extremely disrupting and not the way to go. Having people groomed in the liverpool way, soaking in Kennys knowledge and ethos and providing succession from within is the way to go.

The 2-Year deal is no surprise. He’s proven he deserves the chance though. I’m confident he’ll deliver by putting the team back into the top 4 and getting us back into the position we were 2 years ago after the shambles and regression.

We’ve done little more than sell our best players and replace them with mediocre ones. At least until FSG came into the picture.

Good to hear. I think this 2year contract is perfect for now, keeps the manager and players on there toes. I definitely think Kenny is the right man for the job and don’t think any other manager could of done what he’s done in the same circumstances. I do think Andreas boas villas is the next mourinho and would be my choice if not Kenny but why have potential when you can have the King

kenny daglish is the right man for the job.. he got rid of a usless strike force of babel and torres and brought in a strike force which looks brighter and more hungry. surely he will get rid of flops and deadwoods in cole jovanovic konchesky poulsen and bring in players like coentrao gago banega affelay sanchez adam hazard

I two am unsure about kenny, I idolise him but remain unconvinced with our performances, picking the same old rubbish(lucas kuyt etc), I personally would go for mourinho who is looking like leaving real in the summer

and bayern your everything that is wrong with Liverpool fans today, just because he doesnt agree with you hes not going to be welcome at anfield,DISGUSTING, all are welcome what ever the opinion apart from the in rafa we trust brigade

The King is doing miracles with the squad he has . Gerrard , Carrol , Suarez , Johnson , Kelly , Agger , Skirtel and Caragger deserve a place in the first team . They are players you can count on them week in week out . All the others are average . Mierelles , Kute , Cole And Riena are just the best of the average . The King knows it and the owners knows it , I have faight in both of them . Liverpool needs to be much bigger then average . The King will be with us for atleast four more years then Caragger will step in with Gerrard as his assistant . YNWA .

how some people can be unsure about one of the greatest ever british managers is mental!!!! , he hasnt forgotten what it takes and that has shown already.

kenny and steve clark make a great team and sami lee (not many admire) but is on the same sheet as keeny as they have played and been around each other for many a moon!

straight away kenny asked for BACK UP for torres but when he did torres jumped ship so kenny did what no other manager for some time has done baught a very potential replacement! that also has more to offer!
carrol and suarez …….how many liverpool fan would have thought that one up before jan!

with a new contract and the finacial backing kenny and steve will have this team and club back at the top of world football!

Since Kenny Dalglish took over Liverpool have improved with some some good results. He formed a great partnership alongside Steve Clark and Sammy Lee.

He brought in Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll, Raul Meireles in scoring form. He has been in the Reds for a long time. He became greatest ever player, then coach Liverpool to title winning side and became ambassador for Liverpool.

Kenny Dalglish is exactly what Liverpool have needed for a long, long time. I say this not only in reference to what we have needed in a manager, but as an overall element to a club. The reason: Kenny Dalglish WANTS to be here. He loves Liverpool Football Club and wants them to succeed. He isn’t an ego mad ‘tactician’ like Rafa, or a mid table steward like Woy. Here is a man who embodies the spirit and legacy of the greatest club in football and there is nobody more deserving of being at the helm. He wont win every game, he wont sign every player he tries to, but he will give everything he has to the club and that is all we, as fans, can ask. If Jose Mourinho is ten times the manager Kenny is I still wouldn’t want him, because Jose Mourinho is only a fan of Jose Mourinho and dreams only of his own success. Nobody who calls themselves a fan of Liverpool should doubt the King.

Long live Kenny, You’ll Never Walk Alone.
