Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers is expected to be confirmed as the new Liverpool boss in the next 48 hours, according to widepsread reports.
It is understood that the clubs are now discussing a compensation fee for the 39-year old, which is likely to be in the region of £4m-£5m.
According to reports, Liverpool will now not have a director of football but rather a technical and sporting director.
Roberto Martinez, who was the front runner to replace Kenny Dalglish, was reportedly unwilling to work in the new managerial structure FSG have set up, hence the attention switched back to Rodgers.

Sad day!!!! So it looks like we have got a manager who is taking us back into the top four and where did his team finish this season? 11th!!!!
We’ll say Rodgers is the right man but in truth we all know this is a big step back for LFC!!
I’m not going to pass full judgement on him as LFC manager just yet, but anyone who watched a Swansea game last year could see they were playing some very pretty footy.
They scored 3 less goals than LFC did last season with far less star power. Their main weakness was defense, something we were actually quite good at last year.
Here’s to moving forward!
actually they are quite good defensively if you count in the players quality + attacking football that they played…and you guys have a read at this first…maybe can give you guys a bit of optimisim

Surprising, considering Swans splashed cash and bought him Sigurrdson. Pretty bummed that deal went threw, would have liked us to bring him in from Hoffenheim now that we have Rodgers.
To be fair they only agreed a fee, yet to confirm personal terms nor officially make the deal since the transfer window hasn’t opened yet suppose it’s still possible…
Really not sure about this!!! Swansea play some good stuff but managing Swansea and Liverpool are two completely different things.
He’ll get my full support and i’m wishing he proves me wrong!!!
We might get a chance to have likes of sinclair , dyer and graham and not forgetting sigurrdson in our team.
The more I think of it, the more unfortunate it is that Swans bough Sigurdsson before we reached an agreement with Rodgers.
Good move. Swansea played some great pass and move football – the LFC way – he should be ideal. Good luck Brendan and welcome. Make this club great again.

Unfortunately for us, Swans agreed to a 6.8m deal for Sigurdsson, which will be formally announced Monday. They will make us pay out the nose if we want him now.
Well the player still has to agree his personal terms though, and who knows he might change his mind knowing that Rodgers is leaving, he wants to be there because of Rodgers in the first place
This is a guy whose team played 75 percent of the teams of the park inc us being battered twice by them taking four points out of six not bad for a poor manager is it come on guys lets give him a chance I would love to see Liverpool play the same way as Swansea him and Clarke together again could be a dream pairing lets get behind him and not slaughter him like u did with Roy only diff now is kenny is not in the picture any more young coaching team few new players an we will be flying and is there really a big diff between Swansea and Liverpool now not as much as some fans make out we can all dream of pep or Jose or klopp managing us but that is all it is is a dream so Rodgers ynwa
Give him a chance. Us fans have no patience these days. I still think these yank owners know what they are doing. If we bring in 3 top class players, we’ll definitley have a chance at 4th. Another striker, 2 wingers priority. Defensive center mid if possilbe. I hope Victor Moses signs for LFC, he’s going to be a banger, just wait and see. Also Diame still may happen, good back up for Lucas who will need time to find his game fitness. The managers and new players who’ve havent made a name for themselves, only need the opportunity to do so.
