Liverpool Target Masch Replacements: Tiago Tops List.

Liverpool Target Masch Replacements: Tiago Tops List.

Posted on 26. Jul, 2010 by Dominic Campbell in News

Liverpool have set their sights on replacing the out-bound Mascherano. Roy Hodgson, who will hold crunch talks with the Argentine today, has been offered Tiago should the midfielder jump ship. It is believed that Juventus have identified Liverpools precarious position and are willing to offer them Portuguese international, Tiago Mendes.

Tiago spent last season on loan with Athletic Madrid and despite having a good World Cup, the 29-year-old was told that he no longer fits into Juve’s plans. It is believed that an offer of £4.5M would be enough to persuade the Italian outfit to part with their midfielder.

Having been an important member of the title winning Chelsea squad in 2005, Tiago will have enough Premier League experience to make Roy Hodgson consider a move.

Kopsource rating: 7/10 – For the price quoted.

I don’t think there are many players available with both Premier League experience AND World Cup experience for under the £5M bracket. Had it not been for the arrival of Michael Essien, then Tiago would have spent a longer period of time at Stamford Bridge.

Money is tighter than a baboons grip and Roy Hodgson would be smart to consider this move.

If Mascherano is sold, he may generate much needed revenue for the club. Roy then needs to look at how to best spend the money finding a replacement as he continues to look for a left-back and a striker.

i would like Mashcerano 2 stay but i realise that it looks increasingly likely that he will be on his way therefore Tiago would appear to be a good replacement given his premier league experiance. Scott Parker is a great player but i believe he would cost far to much. There is also Gerrard who can do a great job in the Mashcerano role with Aqualaini and Lucas just infront. This would leave money for a much needed back up striker and a left back or possibly even two left backs as we will need one to cover.

I think we should go for the offer set to be made by inter the part-exchange deal with sulley muntari coming and mascherano going and 30 million it’s definitely worth it like muntari has premiership experience with pompey so why not go for it

Parker would be the perfect signing! Always been a massive fan of his ability and attitude. Think he has improved alot over the last year and was the key to west Ham surviving last year. I would pay upto £15m for him, half of what Masch would probably go for. We have already sold £15m world of players so this would leave £30m for a forward and left backs. Think Bridge will sign at the end of the transfer window with Liverpool holding out until City have to off load players, prob £5m. Heard alot of rumours about Huntelaar, Aguero, Crouch and Remy. Remy would be my last option but think all could make an impact. Also expect Drenthe to sign. Believed we had around £15m to spent in budget, if this is true I think Roy could make £45m go a long way and players like Ever who is young with massive potential could also come in. Cant wait for next season!!! YNWA! Also look out for Jonjo Shelvey next season, all reports coming out of Anfield are he looks real quality!

If RH has to shop at the £ shop instead of harrods, this year, for players, then how about signing Gilberto, to replace mash.

Gilberto wud cost 2m max, no’s the EPL, wud not need time to settle in, and he has bags of experience. Lucas can learn loads of him, if Lucas is not sold.

I think Liverpool should buy Bonega from Valencia, he is a fantastci player and would definately suit with Liverpool’s formation, he’s kind of like Xabi Alonso, especially with his passes, ao he can provide balls to Torres, he is also a goo holding mid-fielder, giving Gerrard more freedom ahead of him
